Orgkhim will present Phytonorman, a new range of non-carcinogenic bio-based plasticizers created using renewable feedstock to replace fossil-based raw materials. The new substance reduces the use of harmful, carcinogenic materials in tires, while also improving tire grip in wet and icy conditions. The resulting reduced rolling resistance of tread rubber compounds also helps to cut fuel costs when driving.
A low glass transition temperature ensures better flexibility at low temperatures, helping the rubber to remain elastic in cold weather and enhancing traction in rain and on snow. During tests in tire treads, Phytonorman showed better results in wet and ice grip and rolling resistance compared with petroleum-based oils. Phytonorman plasticizers are now available for sampling and orders.
