TRWP (tire and road wear particle) is a non-exhaust emission, as generated by tire wear. One method to measure this is by a laboratory test with either a horizontal circular traction surface or a drum with an internal traction surface. An on-road test is another method. Here, compound-level testing is shown as another method, through which insight can be gained into wear characteristics at the compound level. Standard machines like DIN-Abrasion and LAT100 have been used. The current study aims to correlate this data using machine learning, and predict TRWP characteristics at the compound level itself.
