Dixon-Mood 'staircase' fatigue test workflow applied on multi-head test equipment
In the material labs the tyre reinforcement materials are validated for the different failure modes of the tire. Fatigue testing also differentiates the cord materials, constructions, grades & qualities between suppliers. The Efficient Dixon-Mood fatigue workflow can also handle modern multi-head testing equipment. On 1 single “runout” cycle count value, all tests run in a narrow load-cycles region of “near-failure” for highest statistical relevance. The load conditions evolve automatically with further improvements of specimen materials, grades, constructions & qualities. Specimens are all characterized by one quality value, enabling simple over-all type and over-time comparison between legacy, new and future grades.
