See how to achieve perfect control over vulcanization
Festo

The vulcanization process requires many material flows with different pressures and temperatures, but only one process valve series: the VZXA angle seat valve from Festo, an innovation leader for electrical and pneumatic automation. These flexible, modular valves, which open and close system pipelines safely and precisely, will be presented at Tire Technology Expo 2022.

The valves are also used as control valves in conjunction with Festo’s CMSX positioner. The cost-effective positioner controls single-acting and double-acting quarter-turn actuators. As it is not permanently connected to the valve, it can be placed where it is most convenient for users; for example, away from high ambient temperatures to protect the electronic components. Users can control media with temperatures of up to 230°C with the angle seat valve.

An additional interface between the valve body and the actuator brings further advantages. The valve body doesn’t have to be removed from the pipeline if a seal needs to be replaced. Only the affected parts need to be replaced on-site, whether it’s the seal package or the entire actuator. This is an important contribution to higher system availability.

With three actuator sizes, the VZXA angle seat valve range covers the entire spectrum up to two-and-a-half inches, thus helping to reduce maintenance stock. Users can choose between two piston actuators and one diaphragm actuator. The angle seat valve comes with a visual position indicator as standard. By adapting an additional accessory, users can also record the switching position of the valve as a digital or analog value and report it back to their control unit.
