The Environmental Achievement award is an important accolade in today’s climate of green awareness. The ultimate winner was US-based Global Resource Corporation for its remarkable microwave technology, which creates fuel when applied to used tires.

CEO Frank Pringle stated: “I would like to thank you for nominating Global Resource Corporation for the Tire Technology International Award in the area of Environmental Achievement. I would like to speak for all of my colleagues as well as myself when I say that we are very focused and working very hard to introduce our technology to the world. While we are very excited about our results with tires, our ultimate goal is to reduce our dependency on foreign oil by utilizing our technology with various resources available in the USA.”

Commented jury member, Verdek’s Guy Mannino: “Finally, a use of scrap tires that’s a win-win solution for the environment and for the business.”

The other nominees in this hotly contested category were Apollo Tyres, The Environment Council, and TS Plzen.
